Kolby Hoyle - 2024 Scholarship recipient

Kolby Hoyle was 17 years old when he applied for the scholarship and as a third-year graduating U17 player in the 2023 season.

I Have played lacrosse for 9 years with the Okotoks Raiders Association. I started out with U11 and went to U17 with an extra year due to knee surgeries. I have volunteered with the Okotoks Lacrosse club tournament for 8 years. I have helped run game sheets, worked the game sheet table,  helped teams to the right areas, helped update game boards. Plus helped with getting all swag, and team information ready for the tournaments. 

My first year as a novice we won city finals and went to Grande prairie for provincials where we came in third place, which was the best experience so far in my lacrosse years. 

I have  competed in many tournaments and won some tournaments.  Have played soccer, and basketball in high school which don’t come close to being as much fun as Lacrosse. I have had a great time playing lacrosse and even played field lacrosse in the past.
