The Okotoks Raiders Lacrosse Association (ORLA) administers and organizes minor box lacrosse in the Okotoks area for children from 4 to 17 years of age. The ORLA is a member of the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA), which governs cooperation and competition for all lacrosse in the Province of Alberta in accordance with the rules and objectives of the Canada Lacrosse Association (CLA). Teams from the ORLA play within leagues organized and administered by the Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA).
The primary organizing philosophy of lacrosse under these organizations is set out in the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This model describes the goals, organizing philosophies and desired outcomes that ORLA and all of its governing bodies are trying to accomplish at each age group in order to promote a life-long love of lacrosse, growth of the game and continued elite development.
Registration for all programs opens January 1. Early Bird pricing for registration at all age groups is in place until February 15. After February 15 general admission pricing is in effect for $100 more for all age groups. While Registration is open until March 15, 2019, evaluations for our programs begin as early as the last week of February. All Participants are encouraged to register as early as possible to allow ORLA to provide the best opportunity for a fun season to all participants.
Note that ORLA no longer governs or provides any female only lacrosse teams. Mini-Tyke and Tyke teams are mixed gender for all clubs. Players from Novice to Midget looking to play on a female only lacrosse club are invited to seek more information from the Calgary Female Lacrosse Association. http://calgarylacrosse.com/content/girls-all-ages-cdla-female-lacrosse-club
