Congrats to Ryan Horbachewski - Scholarship winner!

Jun. 30, 2020

The Okotoks Raiders Lacrosse Association is proud to announce that it has chosen Ryan Horbachewski as the first former player selected to receive its annual scholarship award.

Ryan played 4 years with the Okotoks Raiders ending his final season last year with the Midget “B” Raiders. Over those years, Ryan also attended Raiders winter camp to improve his skills from being a lacrosse beginner to a contributor to his teams' fun and success on the floor. Ryan overcame injuries always with a smile and positive attitude to stick with lacrosse. Ryan is always a great example of how to never stop trying even if success does not come easy or naturally to you as a player. In addition to his playing contributions with lacrosse, Ryan officiated lacrosse and helped to mentor younger players in the game, including helping out with his younger brother’s team.

Ryan also contributes to Okotoks and area through his involvement in the local aviation community. Ryan volunteers at the Invermere airport ground crew, is a teaching assistant for the aviation program at the Foothills Composite High School and has been a member of the 187 Air Cadets squadron.

Ryan is aiming for a career in aviation and aims to put his scholarship funds to use in post-secondary programs toward that goal. The Raiders are proud to help Ryan toward this goal.

The Raiders look forward to helping more former Raiders towards their goals in the future through the Scholarship program. More details on the Scholarship program can be found at http://okotokslacrosse.com/content/scholarship-information.
